What is Web 3.0 ( Web 3.0 )?
Web 3.0 is a phrase or term used to explain the concept of the new generation of the Internet and the digital and technological technologies that will be implemented, and in turn will negate the modern technologies used today. The simplest example is eliminating the concept of buying with PayPal and Visa/Master versus buying with cryptocurrencies (easy to understand example).
But, in a more technical sense, Web 3.0 is a term given to the new generation of the Internet that will abolish the concept of digital mediation, and make a free Internet available to all. We depend in our technologies today on intermediary services, such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Amazon … which technically control the pattern of our use of the Internet.
For example, if you want to express your opinion on a sensitive topic, most platforms such as Facebook and YouTube will ban your account and prevent you from talking about it. The Internet is under their control! WEB 3.0 aims primarily to get rid of the concept of “leading Internet”, so that you can use a free, uncontrolled Internet. It can also be described as a central Internet. It is reflected in Web 3.0 which can be described as a decentralized Internet.
As for the second aspect, it is to bring modern and emerging technologies to the world and start using them. You must have seen advertisements for self-driving cars, voice control systems, smart homes, Internet of things, blockchain technologies, virtual worlds, NFT collectibles, metaverse worlds, smart glasses and a lot of new technologies developed by many other companies. At some point you should start using them right? That stage will be the stage of transition to Web 3.0.
Apple is only a simple example here. Facebook will give up Facebook in exchange for Meta, which will specialize in the virtual world. This future is getting closer and closer, which will be called the new era of the Internet, the era of Web 3.0.
But the real goal of Web 3.0… is to restore power and control to users.
Blockchain is a weapon of the web 3.0
We do not know exactly what technologies will dominate the world of Web 3.0 among all the many options that currently exist, but we are quite sure that Web 3.0 will be sponsored by Blockchain, cryptocurrency services and their various protocols.
Have you heard of the Deeper Network?
The Deeper Network is a project that aims to bring a separate internet that runs on the P2P protocol initially and on different blockchain services. So it created a group of nodes (or nodes, which is a series of very powerful computers that communicate with each other and perform various operations in the Blockchain network) that will help build a new Internet.
The Internet that we use today is an Internet that depends mainly on servers, servers from hosting companies (eg Google, Amazon …) connected to each other by free cables, and their routing is controlled by the Internet service provider in your country. So technically, your privacy can be violated and you know everything you visit, search and do on the Internet. However, the Deeper Network is trying to build a separate network that is free for everyone.
Cryptocurrency and protocol services aimed at Web 3.0
You must have heard of a lot of different cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin, something like Cardano, Chainlink, Filecoin, and others. You think it’s just cryptocurrencies that can be invested in, nothing less, nothing more. But what you do not know is that they are projects based on crypto and digital currencies aimed at developing various digital services. Then it unleashes itself as a digital currency for those who want to support and invest in it. What you don’t know, is that a whole lot of cryptocurrencies are in fact intended to provide services for Web 3.0. The following list shows you the most important and most active for Web 3.0:
Protocols that will be used in storage and preservation: We use servers and servers to store various private information and data, especially in the cloud. Web 3.0 aims to rely on protocols from Filecoin, Theta, and Stratos in order to bring free, cross-storage technologies away from the tyranny of the world’s largest server companies.
Cryptocurrency protocols and services that will be used in development and programming: Software development will also depend on dedicated services and protocols, including Chainlink and The Graph that can be used to collect and organize data. Also, Band Protocol is able to transfer regular software to software built on Blockchain services. And more.
Social media will also change by incorporating other protocols: on top and, most importantly, the MASK Protocle, which aims to encrypt messages that can be sent on all social media platforms such as Twitter or Facebook (Meta).
These are just simple suggestions, but lists hundreds of protocols and cryptocurrencies meant to be used ad hoc in the new pocket of the web.
